When we think of leaders, we rarely consider the teaching profession. Yet, teachers are the ones truly leading the younger generation, shaping their minds and guiding their futures. Their impact as leaders is often overlooked but profound.

Ayesha

Deputy Director of Education, Shahdara South Zone, Delhi

Humans often operate on autopilot, but a teacher’s role is much larger, shaping a child’s future profoundly. TLP provides educators a space to explore their purpose, grow as facilitators, and create engaging, sustainable learning environments.

Ashima Sanghvi

Deputy Director of Education, Shahdara South Zone, Delhi

One of the TLP offsite highlights was our shared journey to Rishikesh, where we built connections and learned from each other. I also realized that facilitation is a universal skill we can strengthen in every interaction.

Sweta Arora

STEM Associate, Aavishkaar, Palampur

During the program, I learned the importance of silence, authenticity, and active listening in facilitation. These competencies help in connecting with participants, managing group dynamics, and encouraging others effectively.

The program has a well-designed structure that allows for ample space to innovate, bring in new ideas, and practise things in your way. It’s a fantastic community to be a part of!

  • Teacher Leaders Program

"The Teacher Leaders Program is a collective learning space for educators where one tries to understand the true purpose of education."

- Ashima Sanghvi, TLP Facilitator Developer

Teachers as Leaders

Teachers shape countless lives through their actions and influence. As education evolves, the teacher’s role is shifting from delivering content to facilitating learning by responding to a child’s needs. This demands a profound inner and outer transformation of the teacher.

Since 2015, the Teacher Leaders Program (TLP) has been empowering educators to grow into leaders who integrate fun, freedom, and love into classroom learning. Guided by dedicated facilitator developers in small groups, participants deepen their self-awareness, understand their role, and develop the competencies needed to create student-led classrooms. Simultaneously, they foster vibrant peer-led learning communities that thrive beyond the program.

  • How We Do It

Rediscovering the Educator's Role for Today's Students

In a tech-enabled world were information is readily available for students, TLP enables teachers to expand their understanding of their role, bring in pedagogical practices that work in their context and create a nurturing learning environment for their students.

Objectives

To develop self-aware teachers who create student-led classrooms and organise continuous learning communities of educators who shape the future of education.

Program Structure

The 1-year program begins with a 3-day in-person facilitator development offsite followed by 3 program modules, each lasting 3 months.

Each module contains a syllabus of questions and includes:

6 weekly online learning sessions led by facilitator developers in small groups of 10-15.

6 weekly facilitation practice sessions for participants to practice facilitation with their community of 10-15 teachers.

2 reflection circles after the practice sessions.

Learning through a Curriculum of Questions

Our exploratory curriculum covers awareness of the self, group and class, fostering a culture of learning together, and strengthening class pedagogy and learning. It adheres to universal principles of pedagogy and meta-competencies applicable across grades and subjects.

Transformational
Outcomes

Participants become self-driven leaders who create student-focused learning environments, fostering creativity and autonomy, and inspiring continuous growth. The program encourages participants to design their own methods based on their learnings and community interactions.

Teachers Leading
as Facilitators

We transform teachers into facilitators, equipping them with skills in self-awareness, effective pedagogy, group leadership, and continuous learning. Participants practice their learning by facilitating sessions with their teacher group and holding classes for their students.

Communities that
Continue to Thrive

TLP builds communities that thrive beyond the program’s duration. Teachers continue to learn from and support each other, enhancing their well-being and career growth. This one-year program initiates a culture of community learning within your organization.
